The Breeders Trophy in Eventing, a premier event showcasing young Swedish Warmblood eventing talents, is set to welcome an esteemed panel of two international judges this year. SWB is thrilled to announce that German trainer, judge, and breeder Gerd Küst will join British eventing expert Angela Tucker as judges for the prestigious competition, scheduled to take place on September 14-15 at the picturesque Össjö cross-country course near Ängelholm in South Sweden.

Gerd Küst, with over 50 years of experience in sport horse breeding and training, will be a key addition to the judging panel. He is renowned for his extensive knowledge across eventing, show jumping, and dressage, as well as his expertise in young horse training. Küst has established the Holsteiner line Stamm 8888 and has produced numerous approved stallions and sport horses including Zinedream, Quiwi Dream, and Greek Air. His distinguished career includes judging at major events such as Bundeschampionat, German Championships, and international World Cup competitions.

Angela Tucker, returning for her third Breeders Trophy in Sweden, brings her deep expertise and sharp eye for talent to the event. Known for her role as a judge at the British Young Horse Championships at Burghley, as well as at European and World Championships and the Olympic Games, Tucker has a reputation for elevating standards and inspiring participants. Her extensive experience also includes coaching riders at the highest level, notably contributing to the success of the Japanese team at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics.

“We are delighted to have Gerd Küst and Angela Tucker on board for this year’s Breeders Trophy,” said Lars Christensson, Competition Manager. “Their combined expertise will undoubtedly enhance the professionalism of the event and provide valuable insights into the development of young eventing horses.”
